Terms & Conditions
The terms you agree to when you order printing from Printworks — artwork, proofs, turnaround, payment, and what happens if something goes wrong.
Last updated 31 August 2026
These terms apply when you use printworksindy.com or place an order with us. Placing an order means you accept them. Please read the sections on artwork, preflight and proofs especially — those are the ones that decide who is responsible when a job does not come out the way someone expected.
1. Who we are
Printworks Inc., 655 E. Tracy Rd., Whiteland, Indiana 46184. "We" and "us" mean Printworks; "you" means the person or organisation placing the order.
2. Your account
You can order as a guest or with an account. If you have an account, keep your password to yourself and tell us promptly if you think someone else has it. You are responsible for orders placed through your account. Business accounts may have several users; the company administrator controls who they are and what they may do.
3. Orders, pricing and quotes
Prices update live as you configure a product. The price shown when you check out is the price we charge: it is fixed onto your order at that moment and does not change afterwards, even if our list prices do.
Some quantities and specifications are too large or too unusual to price online. Where that is the case the configurator will ask you to request a quote instead, and we will come back to you with a price. A quote is valid for the period stated on it.
We may decline or cancel an order — for example if a price was obviously wrong, if we cannot produce the job to the standard we would want to, or if the artwork breaches section 10. If we do, you get a full refund.
4. Your artwork
When you send us a file you are telling us that you own the rights to everything in it, or have permission to print it — the images, the fonts, the logos, the text. That includes work made for you by someone else. We do not check who owns your artwork, and we rely on what you tell us.
You keep ownership of your artwork. You give us permission to store, copy, adjust for press, and reproduce it as far as we need to in order to produce your order.
5. Preflight and your acknowledgment
Every file is checked automatically before it prints, and we tell you plainly what we found. Some findings are warnings rather than failures — low-resolution images, missing bleed, colours that will shift when converted for press.
If your file raises a warning, you must tick the acknowledgment before you can pay. Doing so means you have seen the specific issues we listed and you want us to print anyway. We record exactly what was flagged and when you acknowledged it. If the finished job shows the problem we warned you about, that is not a defect we can reprint at our cost.
Preflight is automated and thorough, but it is not a proofreader. It does not check your spelling, your phone number, or whether you meant to write "Thursday".
6. Proofs
Most orders print without a proof. We produce one when you ask for it, when our team created or altered the artwork, or when we spot something we want you to look at first.
Where a proof is produced, the first round of changes is free. If a second proof is needed we will tell you that further changes may carry a fee or that the job can print as it stands. If you decline the second proof you can either pay the revision fee — which unlocks another round — or approve the job as-is. Both parties are emailed whenever a proof is approved or a job is locked for production.
Once you approve a proof, that approval is what we print. Please check it carefully.
7. Turnaround
Turnaround is production time in business days. It starts when your artwork has passed preflight and any proof has been approved, not when you place the order, and it does not include transit time. Turnaround is our honest estimate, not a guarantee. If a deadline is critical, tell us before you order and we will tell you plainly whether we can meet it.
8. Shipping, pickup and local delivery
You can collect from the shop, have the job shipped, or — within our local area — have us deliver it. Local delivery is free above a minimum order value within our delivery radius; beyond that radius a per-mile charge applies, calculated from our shop address. The current radius, minimum and rate are shown at checkout.
Risk passes to you on collection or delivery. Where a carrier is involved, delivery dates are the carrier's estimate and outside our control. Orders in several parts may ship separately, each with its own tracking.
9. Payment, tax and account terms
Online orders are paid at checkout by card or bank debit. Card details are handled by our payment processor and never touch our systems.
Approved business accounts may be offered net terms and invoiced instead. Invoices are due within the agreed period. We may suspend terms or hold work on an account that is overdue.
Prices exclude sales tax unless stated. If you are tax-exempt, upload a valid certificate before you order; we cannot refund tax already charged on a completed order.
10. Changes and cancellations
Tell us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an order. Before a job is locked for production we can usually accommodate it. Once it is locked, materials have been committed and work has started, so a cancellation may be charged for the work already done. Once a job has printed it cannot be cancelled — it was made for you and has no other use.
11. Reprints and refunds
Printing is made to order, so we do not offer general returns or change-of-mind refunds. What we do offer is this: if we got it wrong, we fix it. If the job does not match the approved artwork or the specification you ordered, tell us within 10 business days of receiving it and send us a photograph. We will reprint the affected part at our cost or refund it.
We cannot reprint at our cost for problems we warned you about and you acknowledged, errors in artwork you approved, or an approved proof that turned out to have a mistake in it.
12. Colour
Screens make colour with light and presses make it with ink, so a printed piece will never match your monitor exactly. Reprints of the same file at different times can also vary slightly. If an exact colour matters, give us the Pantone or CMYK values and we will match to numbers rather than to a screen. Ordinary variation within commercial printing tolerances is not a defect.
13. What we will not print
We will not knowingly print material that infringes someone else's rights, is unlawful, is fraudulent — counterfeit currency, forged documents or identification — or that harasses or incites violence against people. We may decline any job at our discretion and will refund it if we do.
14. Our site and our content
The site, our text, photography, product images and the Printworks name and logo belong to us. You may not copy or reuse them without permission. Nothing here restricts what you do with your own artwork.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost profit, lost business, missed events — arising from a printing job. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
16. Indemnity
You agree to cover us against claims arising from the content of artwork you supplied — including claims that it infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, and the courts of Indiana have jurisdiction over any dispute.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here when you place your order, and the date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
